“I first had the pleasure of meeting Scott Goldman, fresh out of college, as an intern designer in the mid 90’s. He was a sales representative for a flooring manufacturer and knowing my limited knowledge, his sales appointments with me were not merely about the newest and the greatest products but educational sessions that allowed for my professional growth. It was clear to me that I was not just another sales appointment. Throughout the years that ensued and since the inception of Division 9 in 2010, Scott’s ability to deliver on all aspects of the design process has been instrumental on the success of multiple projects.

We have completed multiple projects together, ranging from corporate office interiors, multi-family housing, senior living to government facilities. He has been instrumental from inception to installation and most importantly, follow ups after completion.

Division 9 is consistently evolving the way we think of the flooring industry by providing innovative solutions while staying relative to all current and future trends.”

–Chung Gobell, Director of Interior Design, Heath Design Group

“I love Division 9’s product lines and we always get timely attention from our local representative in Richmond. So many over at Division 9 work hard to make strong connections with our designers and go the extra mile to meet in person with little notice to offer great service with regard to flooring options, pricing, leadtimes, as well as prompt follow up. Thanks for being a great resource!

–Caroline Patrick, Associate Principal at Wendel Companies

“More than a traditional product line representative, Larry and Div9, are our partners every step of the way. D9 keeps us up to date on trends, manufacturing processes and every thing we need to know before we specify a product. Larry and his team provide superb customer service and clearly maintaining and building relationships ahead of sales. Every team member in my firm is valuable to D9 and is treated as such. From junior staff to ownership, D9, is there for us often before we know we need them. For over 15 years Larry has been a trusted friend in the industry. Consistent and reliable, I couldn’t ask for a better friend. Oh Yeah, and they also sell the most amazing flooring and flooring related products.”

–Gavin Daniels, Principal & Co-Founder at Wingate Hughes Architects

“As an interior designer and flooring specifier, I have consistently turned to Division 9 Associates for all my flooring needs. They are the most knowledgeable, responsive and dedicated group I have worked with in the DC area. D9’s continued dedication to customer satisfaction is unprecedented. I am comforted and delighted to specify the manufactures represented by D9, as I know D9’s industry knowledge, expertise in the market and dedication to perfection — whether budget, design, fabrication or installation — is paramount.”

–Holly Martin, Director of Design, OTJ

“In our fast-paced commercial real estate design industry, product manufacturers continually innovate and expand their brands, so it is vital to the success of our design practice that representatives provide us with accurate and timely information on product performance, budgets, and availability—in effect, our representative becomes an extension of the design team. For more than 10 years, Division 9 has been one of our most informed and experienced representatives on all matters pertaining to commercial flooring. Regardless of the project size, Larry and his team have consistently provided valuable advice and guidance and a committed level of service. We are proud to consider Division 9 as one of our valued design partners.”

–Raj Banga, Director, DBI Architects

“I have had the opportunity and sincere pleasure of doing business with Division 9 Associates for the last 10 ten years. Whether it is a base building project, common area renovation or large tenant build-out the products that Division 9 represent always seem to be the right solution for the project and fit the budget. Division 9 Associates acutely understand the commercial real estate business and how to work with a company such as MRP Realty. As a company, we tend to operate at a very fast pace and our demands require immediate response and attention to detail. Division 9 Associates has never let us, our partners nor a tenant customer down and for that reason we have established them as MRP Realty’s flooring standard in all of our properties.”

–Zach Wade, Principal, MRP Realty

“It is very rare to find manufacturers’ representatives who truly understand the way designers work. For the past 12 years, no one has demonstrated that understanding better than the principals of Division 9 Associates. Whether it is helping to develop custom carpets or pulling strings to get orders to ship a week early, service is always their number one priority. They understand the importance of getting us prompt answers, pricing, and lead times. It is not uncommon to discuss a project with them in the morning and get samples hand-delivered the same afternoon. Division 9 has become a key partner in helping us provide beautiful flooring solutions and, most importantly, keeping our clients happy.”

–Karen Aumen, President, Aumen Asner, Inc.

“I have worked with the principals of Division 9 for over 10 years. They do not just represent some of the finest flooring products on the market—they are flooring problem solvers. On a 150,000 sf project, a client looked at hundreds of carpets before deciding, but when the budgets were updated, something had to be cut. I turned to Larry Hooper. I showed him the client’s choice and told him to find something similar, of equal quality, for less, fast. He had the sample in my hand a week later, the client approved it, and we did not have to compromise our design. Never hesitate to ask Division 9 for a sample to fit a specific need—they will work tirelessly to find it within the tightest time frames, always staying within your budget parameters!”
